Canucks ink Gaunce

The Vancouver Canucks announced Monday that Brendan Gaunce has come to terms on an entry level contract with the Club. The Canucks picked Gaunce 26th overall in the 2012 Entry Draft.  In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not announced.

The Markham, Ontario native is 6’2”, 205 lbs and led his junior team, the Belleville Bulls with 28 goals and 40 assists last season.  Gaunce took part in the Canucks prospect development camp back in July, and if there is no work stoppage, he should be at the Canucks main camp in September.

Although he’s a long shot to crack the roster, there is hope still as the Canucks are expected to start the season without Ryan Kesler.
