Adin Hill signs 2-year deal with San Jose Sharks

San Jose Sharks’ General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club and goaltender Adin Hill have avoided arbitration by agreeing to a two-year contract. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We’re pleased to get Adin under contract solidifying our goaltending position for the coming season,” said Wilson.

Hill was acquired by San Jose on July 17 along with a 2022 seventh-round selection from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for goaltender Josef Korenar and San Jose’s 2022 second-round selection.

Hill, 25, appeared in 19 games last season for Arizona, earning a 9-9-1 record with a .913 save percentage (SV%) and 2.74 goals-against average (GAA) along with two shutouts. Hill co-led Arizona goaltenders in shutouts and led in save percentage and set a career-high in games played and games started (17). In 2019-20, he registered a .918 SV% and 2.62 GAA, which were both NHL career bests.

Over the course of his NHL career, he has appeared in 49 games, earning a 19-21-4 record with a 2.79 GAA and .909 SV%. In the American Hockey League (AHL), he has played in 138 AHL games with the Springfield Falcons and Tucson Roadrunners, earning a 67-50-16 record with a 2.69 GAA, .909 SV% and 10 shutouts. He has played in 9 Calder Cup Playoff games, all in 2018 with Tucson, recording a 4-5 record and a 2.12 GAA and .912 SV%.

I grew up playing Ball and Roller Hockey day and night somewhat religiously throughout elementary and middle school. The two don't compare though when I lace up the skates and hit the ice. I live and breathe hockey beyond the perspective of "it's just a game" and I will gladly talk hockey for hours with anyone. Hockey is more than just a lifestyle, it's a culture of passionate people who make memories every time the puck is dropped. Hockey has not only helped me get through some of the hardest times in life but has created some of the best memories to date. Want to talk hockey with me? Shoot me an email: iburdetskiy@hookedonhockey.com and let's talk some hockey!
