The Boston Bruins and netkeeper Tuukka Rask have reportedly reached an agreement in principle for a one-year, $3.5 million contract, that will have Rask most likely regularly goaltending with Tim Thomas’ decision to sit next season out.

Most B’s fans are probably wondering why Tuukka Time has only been confirmed for one season given that he’s quite obviously the future goaltender of the Bruins. Next summer, Rask will be a restricted free agent and this agreement gives Bruins’ GM Peter Chiarelli plenty of time to work out a fair contract extension over the course of this season, as well as during next year’s postseason.
This past season Rask went 11-8-3 with a 2.05 GAA and .929 save percentage.
