Due to increased ad revenue, the NHL is boosting the wage cap, but fans and players are still concerned because the increase falls short of expectations.

A small $1 million cap hike is being considered by the league, with room for further modifications. Players must pay escrow, and because of their $70 million debt, this prevents cap increases.

Star players who wish to remain with their teams have difficulties because of the owners’ financial struggles, which also affects the fans. Gary Bettman hasn’t solved the problem of leadership.
