Jets sign 3rd Round Pick, JC Lipon

The Winnipeg Jets announced Thursday the team has signed 2013 third-round pick J.C. Lipon to a three-year entry-level contract with an average annual value of $700,000 at the NHL level.

The 20-year-old right wing had 36 goals and 89 points in 61 games last season to go along with 115 penalty minutes with the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League. He was fifth in postseason scoring with 23 points in 15 WHL playoff games, and the 91st pick in the draft.

“Very excited to sign my first pro contract with the @NHLJets, excited for the future,” Lipon said via his Twitter account, @jgator34.

Lipon played for Canada at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship.
