Hockey Bird Mascot

What do you think? Is this really a good mascot to represent HOCKEY and the IIHF? I’ve been watching the World Championships for years now, however now I’ll have to see this mascot all over in every rink during every single game? I can’t help but laugh every time I see this obnoxious bird….how can I take this serious?

I need feedback, should hockey and angry birds coexist? I think an 8 year old could come up with a better mascot but that’s just me….maybe we should have a contest?

I grew up playing Ball and Roller Hockey day and night somewhat religiously throughout elementary and middle school. The two don't compare though when I lace up the skates and hit the ice. I live and breathe hockey beyond the perspective of "it's just a game" and I will gladly talk hockey for hours with anyone. Hockey is more than just a lifestyle, it's a culture of passionate people who make memories every time the puck is dropped. Hockey has not only helped me get through some of the hardest times in life but has created some of the best memories to date. Want to talk hockey with me? Shoot me an email: iburdetskiy@hookedonhockey.com and let's talk some hockey!

This is a pretty ironic article coming from someone whose college mascot is a imaginary, cartoonish bird named a River Hawk...

You're right, I haven't seen a Riverhawk nor will I. Same will go for Hockey Bird... but maybe if I'm lucky enough someday later on in my life I'll stumble upon a Sasquatch!
