Deadline Deals: Marcel Goc to Pittsburgh/Two Picks to Florida

30-year old German forward Marcel Goc has been traded from the Florida Panthers to the Pittsburgh Penguins in what will likely turn out to be the typical underrated Ray Shero deal.

Goc is in the last year of his 3-year, $1.7 million deal.

Pittsburgh now has five centers: Crosby, Malkin, Sutter, Adams, and Goc.

The Penguins did spend two draft picks to acquire him, in a 2014 5th Rounder and a 2015 3rd Rounder, so it’s anyone’s guess as to who wins this trade. Only time will tell.

One thing is for sure however. GM Shero very rarely makes a bad trade. Keep that in mind.

Goc has 72 goals and 177 points in 550 career games.
