Playoff Leading Scorer Nikita Kucherov Injured Early In Game 6

Kucherov was also down in the offensive zone for a solid couple seconds and was slow to get up well before this attempted hit for him:

If there’s more to this apparent upper-body injury (possibly his right shoulder) then the Lightning may be without the current playoff leader in scoring.

Kucherov leads all players with 27 points (5-22) through the playoffs and 9 points in this series against the Islanders.

Tyler Johnson has slid into Kucherov’s spot on the top line for the Lightning.

UPDATE:

This is the play that caused the injury in question:

I grew up playing Ball and Roller Hockey day and night somewhat religiously throughout elementary and middle school. The two don't compare though when I lace up the skates and hit the ice. I live and breathe hockey beyond the perspective of "it's just a game" and I will gladly talk hockey for hours with anyone. Hockey is more than just a lifestyle, it's a culture of passionate people who make memories every time the puck is dropped. Hockey has not only helped me get through some of the hardest times in life but has created some of the best memories to date. Want to talk hockey with me?
