Breaking News! – Lightning Strikes Twice in Tampa

In-case you haven’t heard………..

The Tampa Bay Lightning are back-to-back Stanley Cup champions after beating the Montreal Canadiens 1-0 in Game 5 on Wednesday night.

They are the second team of the salary cap era to repeat, joining the 2016-17 Pittsburgh Penguins.

Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy had another strong bounce-back performance after a loss with a 22-save shutout to give the city its third championship in less than a year. The Buccaneers won the Super Bowl in February.

He picked up the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP with his fifth shutout. Counting the 2020 Stanley Cup title, he has picked up shutouts in five consecutive series.

I grew up playing Ball and Roller Hockey day and night somewhat religiously throughout elementary and middle school. The two don't compare though when I lace up the skates and hit the ice. I live and breathe hockey beyond the perspective of "it's just a game" and I will gladly talk hockey for hours with anyone. Hockey is more than just a lifestyle, it's a culture of passionate people who make memories every time the puck is dropped. Hockey has not only helped me get through some of the hardest times in life but has created some of the best memories to date. Want to talk hockey with me? Shoot me an email: iburdetskiy@hookedonhockey.com and let's talk some hockey!
