Enroth Agrees to Extension with Sabres

Jhonas Enroth will remain a Buffalo Sabre.  The Swedish born goalie was extended to a 2 year contract believed to be worth 1.25 million per season.  Enroth, who has been the back-up to Ryan Miller since he was drafted, is excited to be back in Buffalo.  “I think I proved to myself that I really can play at a high level”

Enroth was 4-4-1 this season with a 2.60 GAA and 1 shutout.  He really shined in the World Championships.  He had an eye-popping .956 Save Percentage and a 1.15 GAA, leading Sweden to Gold at the Championships.  With his recent performance, could Enroth be the starting goalie for Buffalo next season

Enroth will get a chance to start if they decide to trade Ryan Miller.  The Sabres have been looking to move up in the draft and have made teams know that Miller and Thomas Vanek are available.  Both players are in the final year of their contracts.

Notes:  Congratulations to former Sabres coach Lindy Ruff for landing the Dallas Stars head coaching job.  Ruff was the Sabres all-time winningest coach at 571-432-162.  With the Sabres, he made the Stanley Cup Finals once (lost to the Stars) and made the conference finals several times.
