Nick Foligno signs 2 year deal with Boston Bruins

The Bruins signed their third left-shot forward to the roster Wednesday adding 33-year-old Nick Foligno, a long-time Columbus Blue Jacket and Ottawa Senator, who finished 2020-21 with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
While waiting on the next shoe to drop for the Bruins, I’ll start by saying I actually like the Nick Foligno deal. They’re clearly “going for it” and his edge, competitiveness and experience makes him a solid bottom-six veteran. Two-year deal @ $3.8m is fine, IMO. #NHLBruins

Earlier in his career, Foligno scored more than 25 goals in a season twice, but he’s become much more of a defensive-minded forward with occasional offense now. He had seven goals and 13 assists in 49 games split between Columbus and Toronto in 2020-21.
Foligno went to the Leafs at the trade deadline last year as Toronto hoped he’d provide veteran leadership after spending six seasons as the Blue Jackets captain. They gave up a first-round pick for him. The son of former Maple Leafs winger Mike Foligno has amassed 203 goals and 486 points in his career.
