Sabres Winless Streak Continues

The Buffalo Sabres have not had a great season so far.  There is going to be a lot of suffering this season for fans.  It was no different Saturday night.  The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Sabres 2-1 in front of 21,261 at the United Center.

The Blackhawks would get on the board first.  Brent Seabrook sent a shot on net and it was tipped by Ben Smith to go up 1-0.  Buffalo couldn’t stay out of the penalty box in the first period as they committed 4 penalties during the opening frame.  Luckily, they were able to kill off all them.  Cody Hodgson had the best chance in the period for Buffalo but his shot rang off the post.  Buffalo was outshot 20-6 in the period.

The second period did not go as well for Buffalo.  Penalties plagued Buffalo again and a penalty late in the period let Chicago to take a 2-0 lead.  Patrick Sharp went around the net and along the boards.  He saw an open Patrick Kane who’s shot went by goaltender Ryan Miller.  Again, Chicago dominated in the second, outshooting the Sabres 17-10.
