It’s that time of year again. The time of the upper lip whisker, the lip sweater, and the inevitable comparison of moustaches. A Devil no stranger to moustache envy from the likes of many is Adam Henrique. Last year, he started a Movember campaign, raising money to be donated to men’s health and cancer research. He is back at it again this year, with a bit of a fashionable twist.
This year, Henrique, who fans lovingly call Rico, designed limited edition New Jersey Devils Movember hats, exclusively sold in the Devils store until month’s end. The hats are $30, and all of the proceeds will go to Movember. He toyed with a few designs and had a friend help with the design, looking to combine the New Jersey Devils, his love of moustaches, and his jersey number, 14.

Coach John Hynes, though, isn’t so concerned about the “Rico stache”. Just 12 games into the season, he has shuffled the lines very frequently, trying to find the right combinations to spark some offensive energy. Before his hat trick against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday, Mike Cammalleri had three assists in ten games. He found himself bounced around from the first, second and third lines, playing with Henrique, on the first line with Taylor Hall (one of the few men who hasn’t moved from his spot, in this case on the first line), and on the third line with Beau Bennett and Devante Smith-Pelly. Travis Zajac moved from the second to the first line after finding some early offensive success, but it seems unlikely he will permanently take this spot from Henrique. Henrique and Hall enjoyed massive success together in their OHL days, and fans eagerly await the time they get to see the pair in action. Pavel Zacha saw some first line time, but has since been moved to the third line to work on his defensive game.
While the lines are shuffled, though, the Devils seem to be struggling offensively. An overtime loss in Florida on Thursday and a regulation loss against Tampa Bay on Saturday proved the Devils still have plenty of work to do. Though both wins in the home-and-home series against Carolina were bright spots after a poor Florida road trip, the Devils know they still have a lot of work to do.
The Devils head to Buffalo on Friday to start a home-and-home matchup against the Sabres.
