Gabriel Landeskog has been offered several contracts by the Avalanche many times, Here’s what those offers were:

Earlier we reported that Gabriel Landeskog noted frustration in contract talks with the Avalanche were not going anywhere.

It felt like the Avs were not even offering up anything at this moment thus making Landeskog feel like he would be likely to test the free agent market.

However now several sources are reporting the Avs have over a period of time tried to move talks with both term and deal in keeping Landeskog on the team.

Of course if these are true indications of the Avs offering such lowball amounts both for years and price then their Captain’s frustration is justified.

Some believe the Avs are just leaving Landeskog out there so once the expansion draft ends they can sign him to a fair contract. The reasoning behind this is that Seattle wouldn’t risk taking Landeskog knowing he’s a UFA and can sign immediately upon free agency with whomever he wants.

By doing this the Avs would then be able to protect a different player from being taken while knowing they can still sign Landeskog before free agency opens.

We’ll have to see which scenario is the more likely as both the expansion draft and free agency approaches.

I grew up playing Ball and Roller Hockey day and night somewhat religiously throughout elementary and middle school. The two don't compare though when I lace up the skates and hit the ice. I live and breathe hockey beyond the perspective of "it's just a game" and I will gladly talk hockey for hours with anyone. Hockey is more than just a lifestyle, it's a culture of passionate people who make memories every time the puck is dropped. Hockey has not only helped me get through some of the hardest times in life but has created some of the best memories to date. Want to talk hockey with me? Shoot me an email: iburdetskiy@hookedonhockey.com and let's talk some hockey!
