Linus Ullmark signs with the Boston Bruins to a 4-year contract

Linus Ullmark has signed with the Bruins for 4 years at $5M AAV.

After being selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the sixth round (No. 163) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Linus Ullmark spent the following three seasons with Modo in the Swedish Hockey League before coming over to North America.

In 2015-16, Ullmark split the season between Buffalo and Rochester of the American Hockey League. In 20 NHL games, Ullmark was 8-10-2 with a 2.60 goals-against average and .913 save percentage.

Despite his strong numbers, Ullmark spent the majority of the following two seasons in Rochester, playing in only six NHL games (four starts).

In 2018-19, Ullmark stuck with Buffalo, where he was supposed to be the backup for Carter Hutton, who had signed a three-year contract with the Sabres in the offseason. However, with Hutton struggling to find his consistency, Ullmark would go on to split time in net, playing 37 games (34 starts) with a 15-14-5 record, a 3.11 GAA and .905 save percentage.

Ullmark continued his strong play in 2019-20, and he took the No. 1 job away from Hutton by going 17-14-3 with a 2.69 GAA and .915 save percentage in 34 starts before the season was paused on March 12 due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus.
